FESY Partners with BK Foundation and Rwanda Green Fund

In June 2024, Friends Effort to Support Youth (FESY) entered into a significant partnership with the BK Foundation and the Rwanda Green Fund. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to fostering sustainability, financial literacy, and economic empowerment in Rwanda's rural communities.

Project Focus and Target Audience

The one-year project, specifically targeting more than 500 individuals in Gicumbi District, focuses on participants from the Green Gicumbi Project and the surrounding communities. The initiative aims to enhance financial literacy among youth, women, and adults, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed to improve their economic resilience.

Goals of the Partnership

Through this partnership, we are dedicated to establishing savings groups and increasing the number of individuals opening and maintaining active bank savings accounts. Our collective efforts will not only boost financial inclusion but also promote sustainable economic practices within the community.

Key Project Objectives and Expected Outcomes

  • Enhanced Financial Literacy: Youth, women, and adults from the project area will significantly improve their understanding of financial management, particularly in savings and financial literacy concepts.
  • Formation of Savings Groups: Savings groups, particularly among the informal sector, will be established, providing a platform for collective financial growth and stability.
  • Increased Savings and Financial Inclusion: The project will lead to increased savings among participants, particularly youth and women, improving their access to financial services and inclusion in the formal financial sector.
